Honest review on trailer of Manikarnika: The queen of Jhansi (2019 movie)?

Amitabh’s narration is as always amazing. What a voice, everybody will agree on this.
Now what caught my attention first was Kangana’s entry. Who can forget the grand entry of Devsena in Baahubali. Tearing apart the veil with her sword. So epic and mesmerising it was. Please read full Movie Review of Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi

Kangana did it in the same way. Tearing the Union Jack with her sword.

It was quite good. But to be honest it was nothing in comparison with the original. You know, original will always be the original and copy will always be the copy.

Similarly, in the trailer of Thugs of Hindostan-

we have seen the Baahubali’s influence. Fatima shooting multiple arrows in a single shot.

The point I am trying to make here is that Baahubali has made a paradigm shift in the Indian film industry. It has changed the ways the film industry used to think in. It has made them believe in big budget movies. We have seen this in Robot 2.0, Thugs of Hindostan.

I got goosebumps seeing the teaser.

Everyone is familiar with the Jhansi Ki Rani( Queen Of Jhansi). Especially, the epic poem of Subhadra Kumari Chouhan titled Jhansi ki Rani has engraved her in the minds of probably every student. Though the poem used to become a nightmare when Hindi teacher used to force students to memorize it. 😀 Everybody is familiar with this line-

Khoob ladi mardani vah to Jhansi wali Rani thi.

Roughly translated in English as – Great did she fight like a warrior, she was the queen of Jhansi.

The teaser was amazing. I watched it multiple times and each time, I got goosebumps. And I think that’s sufficient to find the teaser as amazing.

Though I think Kangana went slightly overboard with her aggression. Especially, the last scene could have been done better. I thought that something was amiss in Kangana’s demeanour. After thinking hard, I got that. Kangana was in the battlefield without any headgear. And that’s not a good thing either to do or to watch.

I won’t delve into the futile stuff like VFX and all that. No sense in comparing it with astronomically high budgeted Hollywood movies.

Overall a great teaser.
